BEYOND 12TH GRADE

12 IS NOT ENOUGH.

Gone are the days for which it's sufficient to conclude one's education in 12th grade. Due to the growing need for a college degree in almost every occupation in today's job market, students who lack any postsecondary education face greater difficulty in securing jobs while their lifetime earning potential falls far below the expectations of individuals who have pursued higher learning. This has particular ramifications on those from underserved neighborhoods. 

Because of the many challenges of the inner city, students from low-income families have limited opportunities to break from the cycle of poverty. A postsecondary education remains their best bet. However, many high schools from these neighborhoods lack adequate resources for students seeking college admission, leaving them at a greater disadvantage than their affluent peers. That's where we come in. 

The numbers are startling. The implications wide. It's time to take action.
