OUR PROGRAMS

12 Plus takes a holistic and longitudinal approach to helping students discover, pursue, and thrive in their own postsecondary path.

We know success isn’t defined by just a few months. Starting from their first day of high school, students are introduced to their 12 Plus team. Over the next few years, they work together to identify the postsecondary option that best fits their goal.

College & Career Readiness

Our staff are there to help equip students with skills, explore various careers, evaluate their options, and execute on their college and career plans. From freshman year to after graduation as alumni, 12 Plus students are never alone on their path.

Equip & Explore

In 9th grade, we equip students with the tools needed to navigate high school, introducing concepts such as:

  • How their choices in high school can impact their later options

  • What options they have in terms of careers and postsecondary training

In 10th grade, we move into helping students explore those options, looking into:

  • Different jobs and career fields

  • The various kinds of continued education and training degrees needed for a job or to advance in a career

  • The requirements for specific postsecondary or accelerated programs

  • Part time jobs or internships to gain experience

Leadership Development

Operating in parallel with our grade-specific programs, this youth leadership initiative helps develop transferable or “soft” skills that are essential for postsecondary success.

Our goal is for student ambassadors to assist, motivate, and empower their peers in pursuing a postsecondary education while strengthening the sense of community and student advocacy within their schools.

Ambassadors learn:

  • Public speaking skills and confidence

  • Event coordination and community outreach tools

  • Data collection, organization, and visualization practices

  • Peer-to-peer support techniques and insights

We provide a dedicated third space inside schools for students.

From college info sessions and resume workshops to graduation dress rehearsal and senior presentations to intense games of Uno and everything else in between, the PLUS Center is the heart of our work.

Help our students succeed.
